My 2018 Reading Challenge Results

Kelley McElreath

Many of you have wanted to know about my reading challenge. I set a goal for myself in April 2018 to read 25 books. I ended up reading 35! Many I listened to on Audible but I also read a lot. You can find me on Good Reads by searching for my name for full reviews on the ones I reviewed.

Here they are in with my absolute favorites listed first, but I can honestly say that I enjoyed ALL of them. I plan on listening to several of these again.

My goal for 2019 is to read 50 books!!

  1. You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero (MOST FAVORITE BOOK OF THE YEAR!! Was so good I bought the hard copy to read after listening on Audible))
  2. You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero (SECOND FAVORITE! Bought the hard copy to read after listening on Audible)
  3. Relentless by Tim Grover (I believe this was written for men. However, I have listened to this three times. It is just a great kick in the ass to get you motivated.)
  4. Whatever Arises, Love That by Matt Kahn (This guys voice is kind of annoying but I LOVED this book!)
  5. Whatever Arises, Love That Course by Matt Kahn (I'm almost done with this one. What I love about this is that while it is a course, you can listen to it and don't need the actual book. You can also meditate to it while going to sleep.
  6. Rejection Proof by Jia Jiang (I stumbled across this book not really realizing what it was about and I think this was such a WONDERFUL book and would be a great read for anyone!)
  7. 10% Happier by Dan Harris (Another favorite. This book is really, really good. He has a fantastic podcast with some VERY interesting guests. If you deal with anxiety or are interested in meditation or already are meditating, you have to read this book and listen to the podcast!)
  8. Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie (Must Read!! This is the founder of TOMS shoes)
  9. The Coaching Habit by Michael Stanier (Must read if you are a life coach!)
  10. The Millionaire Next Door by Willian Danko (This is an old book but SO awesome. It had some great insighst to millionaires.)
  11. The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer (This book was life altering for me. Huge Insights!!)
  12. The Obstacle is The Way by Ryan Holiday (VERY good read)
  13. Mindsight by Daniel Siegel (Extremely enlightening)
  14. The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy (I think everyone should read this book. Doing small things consistently pays off big)
  15. Judgement Detox by Gabrielle Bernstein (Another eye opener!)
  16. The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein
  17. Thoughts Without a Thinker by Mark Epstein
  18. Living a Life of Awareness by Miguel Ruiz Jr.
  19. Mindfulness & The Brain by Daniel Siegel
  20. Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach
  21. Ego is The Enemy by Ryan Holiday
  22. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles (Awesome!)
  23. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson (This was the first one I read this year and it is a good read)
  24. 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson
  25. The Art of Mental Training by D. C. Gonzalez
  26. The Virgin Way (I really enjoyed this book but feel like it is more geared towards business owners)
  27. The Art of Letting Go by Thought Catalog
  28. New Sales Simplified by Mike Weinberg (Great book if you are in sales or just an entrepreneur)
  29. Exactly What to Say by Phil Jones (Really good book for sales or coaching careers)
  30. Leadership & Self-Deception by The Arbinger Institute (Eye opener to a person's true motives in life and business, including your own.)
  31. LinkedIn Riches by John Nemo (Must read for building a great LI profile and more)
  32. LinkedIn: How to Build Relationships & Get Job Offers (Good tips regarding LinkedIn)
